Mandalas Painted on Canvas

Painting mandalas onto canvas produces a more traditional finish to the item and is also very light in weight.

I prepare the canvas with 2 coats of gesso and then 2 coats of background colour (usually black).

The finished product is then protected with 3 coats of satin topcoat to protect the piece and a claw hook or 'D' hook is added to the back for ease of mounting.
